Upcoming Performances- FREEDOM FESTIVAL SHOW

Clogging champions, Nashville musicians, Native American Hoop and Polynesian Fire-Knife dancing will combine to celebrate America’s cultural heritage as CLOG AMERICA takes the stage July 4.  Recognized as “Utah’s Ambassadors of Peace and Friendship to the World” by the Utah State Legislature,  CLOG AMERICA is celebrating  25 years of representing the USA at over 70 International Folk Dance Festivals around the world.

From 1976-1998 "Utah's National Cloggers’ Festival", founded and directed by Dennis Cobia, featured national award winning clog dance teams locally and from around the USA.  During the 1991 edition, CLOG AMERICA, directed by Shawnda Bishop and Bonnie Romney, appeared for the first time before the group embarked on the first International Festival Tour.

CLOG AMERICA has danced around the world and into the hearts and homes of thousands of people. As appointed emissaries of the United States, the performers dazzle on stage while taking time to visit children in orphanages, hospitals and handicapped facilities. From throughout the Intermountain West, the cast members donate their talents, time, and resources to make the magic happen. Clog America also performs dances and music representing various time periods of American history in the fast-paced and exciting program.

The CLOG AMERICA Freedom Festival performance will also feature Jake Workman, lead guitarist for Ricky Skaggs with the CLOG AMERICA band led by Nate Keller, CLOG AMERICA alumni dancers and musicians and military veterans. The Native American 21 hoop dance and Samoan Fire Knife Dance will be performed by Michael Ahuna.

The PRE-SHOW will feature acclaimed singer, songwriter and story-teller Clive Romney, National Twin Fiddle Champions Grace Dayton and Alina Geslison Bagley as well as Jake and Rebekah Workman.
